SHORT SUMMARY HIGHLIGHTS
Mahale Mountains national park is located in western Tanzania. It is south of the city of Kigoma, and got its name from the Mahale Mountains. These mountains are one of only two protected areas for chimpanzees in Tanzania and the chimpanzee population is the largest known. It is the only place where chimpanzees and lions co-exist. Mahale Mountains national park sits among the spectacular, forested mountain slopes. The protection of the thousands of chimpanzees that inhabit the region was originally and main reason to create the park.
Day 1
DAR ES SALAAM
On your arrival at Dar-es-Salaam International Airport, you will meet with the driver guide and transferred to your accommodation for check in, food, relaxation and a short briefing. Dar es Salaam is the major City and Commercial Port in Tanzania with a population of about more than 4 million people.

Day 2
DAR ES SALAAM TO KIGOMA
The driver guide will pick you early in the morning and transfer to Dar-es-Salaam International Airport for a domestic flight to Kigoma. The journey from Dar es Salaam to Kigoma it takes about 2 hours. When you arrive at your accommodation you will receive a short briefing, check in, food, and relaxation.

Day 3
KIGOMA TO MAHALE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK (RESEARCH CENTRE)
The driver guide will pick you early in the morning after breakfast and transfer to Lake Tanganyika to connect to a speed boat to Mahale Mountain National Park. The journey from off shore of Lake Tanganyika to Mahale Mountain National Park, it takes about 4 hours. The Ranger will be waiting for you at Mganza where you will transfer to your accommodation for check in, eat, and go for a late afternoon nature walk, accompanied by armed ranger. After the activities you will be returned to your accommodation for food, relaxation, a short briefing.

Day 4

- Nonrefundable 30% deposit is required to secure the tour and begin the necessary booking processes and ground preparations. An invoice will be sent to the client together with the payment instructions.
- Final balance payment of the tour booked is required to be paid not later than 21 days before the tour starts. Bookings made within 21 days of the tour start date should be paid in full.
- Cancellation received 35 days or more before the tour starts: No Cancellation Fees will be charged.
- Cancellation received 11 - 34 days before the tour starts: 30% Cancellation Fee will be charged.
- Cancellation received 3 – 10 days before the tour starts: 50% cancellation fee will be charged.
- Cancellation received within 48hrs before the tours starts: 100% Cancellation Fee will be charged.
